Ian Bond's Counselling and Therapy Services, Vancouver, BC

About Ian

From an early age Ian has been interested in psychology and helping others. He feels that being a counsellor & therapist is more of a calling than a profession. It is an honour and privilege to be of help to others. With the goal of becoming a counsellor and therapist, he chose university programs and courses that he felt would most benefit his work in helping his future clients.

Ian holds a Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology from the Adler School of Professional Psychology in Chicago, which is a fully accredited and award-winning university. It is also the oldest school of professional psychology in North America. While at Adler doing the three-year master’s degree, he became a member of Psi Chi, the U.S. national honor society in psychology for outstanding scholastic achievement and excellence. Prior to attending Adler, he earned a Bachelor of Arts (Major in Psychology) from Simon Fraser University. While at S.F.U. he took 30 courses in psychology, or psychology related courses, and became a member of the Golden Key National Honour Society for outstanding scholastic achievement and excellence. He enjoys attending workshops and conferences to learn from experts and further advance his education.

Ian is a member of the B.C. Association of Clinical Counsellors (#2648), and Canadian Society of Clinical Hypnosis. He has been in private practice since 2006. Prior to this, he worked as a case manager for Deltassist Family and Community Services helping clients with addictions, depression, trauma, anxiety, relationship problems, and many other conditions. His clinical work was assessed by senior managers and was rated as excellent.

Ian has been interviewed on CBC television about marriage and relationships, and on CKNW radio to talk about clinical depression and professional burnout.

Ian is in his mid 50s, happily married, and has three children.

Ian offers a complimentary thirty minute consultation to briefly discuss your situation and how counselling, therapy, and hypnotherapy can help. Please contact Ian if you would like to ask any questions and set up an appointment.
